Artist Statement

I didn’t paint Him. I discovered Him.

The Son of God emerged from a moment of spiritual transition—between what I once practiced and what I was beginning to understand.

Before I truly knew Him, I had painted a heart chakra—an expression rooted in earlier spiritual exploration. But after encountering the presence of the Holy Spirit, I could no longer approach the canvas in the same way.

I questioned what to do with it—whether to discard it, erase it, or let it go entirely. Yet none of those felt right. Instead, I was led into a process of surrender.

The canvas was covered in layers: red, representing the blood of Jesus; white, the purity of the Holy Spirit; and gold, the glory of the Father.

What first felt like destruction began to reveal something unexpected. As the colors moved and blended, a form started to emerge—unplanned, unforced. When I considered completing the image myself, I sensed a clear instruction: do not add anything.

So rather than painting, I uncovered. With my hands, I gently revealed what was already there— the eyes, the nose, the mouth… the face of the Son of God.

In that moment, I understood: I did not create this image. I discovered it.

This work reflects a shift from striving to surrender, from making to receiving, from expression to revelation.

It is a testimony that creation, when yielded, can become communion— a space where the divine is not imposed, but revealed.
